Qatar airways cockpit visit?
I'm going to India in January, and I'll be flying Qatar airways from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Doha, Qatar. Does anybody know if they do cockpit visits? I have my pilot's license.
Thanks

It's definitely not allowed during flight on any US flights.
Ask on the ground in Doha before you get off the airplane or again when you get off the plane in India. Those would be the best times.

I flew for an airline in the US, Champion Air, which at one time had in the ops specs, that family members could ride the jumpseat. I took my wife from CLT to MEM and back a week later (I was based in Memphis). The trip up to MEM climbing thru FL180 I reached up and flipped off the lights, my SO said Climb Check complete, so I engaged the autopilot, told my FO he had the A/C. I turned around to ask my wife what she thought and she was white as a ghost. I said "Honey are you ok?". She said I cannot believe we're doing this and you are in charge of all this. I said what do you think I have been doing all these years???? A couple of years later I had the pleasure of having my 12 year old niece with me on the JS. It was the time of her life!!!! All this was pre 9/11 obviously.

We fell into the easy conversation that most crews do. My wife was a bit bug-eyed at the whole scene. She looked around the flight deck and Asked me "Where's your seat?" The Captain started laughing and said "Sorry mate! Looks like you're redundant!)(This was a -400)
Guess you had to be there

Just a week ago a Pilot was fired at Qatar for letting his wife in ... stupid Airline
Is it reall NOT allowed to get into the cockpit in the US? Because in Europe you just ask and most of the time the pilot will say yes (At least at German Carriers).

Yes, it is really not allowed during flight in the U.S. Most airlines allow it on the ground, although some don't.
