UPS Anchorage Meeting

Sorry I am in one of those moods ...

Nope!
Serious (non-sarcastic) question -- seriously out of character I know -- does UPS have a corporate flight department? You never hear anything about it. I understand the UPSCO Airline guys ride around pri3/6 but what about Atlanta -- do they have a NetJets account or what? FEDEX has one, wonder what's taken us so long.

I can't make the meeting, so someone ask these toads this question for me:
How many priority 7 crewmembers did you guys bump at the last minute? I met one bumpee in SDF ops this afternoon!
These manglers are as clueless as the big three CEOs going to DC in their G5s!

They booked themselves as P6s, bumping several commuting P7s at the last minute! Clueless!

No, they ride around in coach, which is why they would love to do away with our 1st classs tickets.

What do you guys think?
Second, information is very valuable. Go the meeting and ask questions and express your concerns. Be professional and courteous, and do not go in there with a B&G attitude. Listen to the speakers and form your own opinions based your own best judgment.
Third, (for everyone) quit starting threads on the internet about "furloughs" unless you have an official source. All it serves to do is to further mitigate the rumor mill and get people worked up over nothing.

The perfect platform to persuade some junior guys into thinking that the sky is falling is this particular website - APC. The biggest source of any furlough rumor seems to originate from this very forum and from the same group of people.
First, always think about a furlough regardless of your seniority and economic conditions. This will force you to be prepared if and when the proverbial sky does fall.

To your second; That is great advice.......too bad I keep losing my job every 3 years!
I know my timing in this industry sucks! I alone have to deal with that. However, having a discussion about what the future holds is not going to hurt anything and not talking about it will not prevent what UPS will do in this down slide of the economy.
Trust me, If I knew about the PVG hub opening next week I would of never started this thread!
Oh well, off to Nursing shcool. LOL!
