Let me preface this by saying that we've all had issues both FedEx and UPS.
But this is Funny
A few years back. I order a Dell Computer (I know stupid). It was shipped via UPS. When said computer didn't arrive I went on line to track it down. According to tracking number it had been delivered and sign for by someone. I called UPS, they acted like I was crazy. So I called Dell, they were responsive and started an investigation.
The next day UPS calls to tell me they "delivered it to Fedex" ?????
They said they couldn't find my address so they dropped it off at Fedex. They couldn't tell me where, just that since "fedex" was next to my name as an employee purchase, that fedex had it. I told them that Fedex had dozens of locations in the Memphis area and it might be helpful if they gave me a hint.
Two days later some nice guy from the mailroom at Fedex's Tech center, in Collierville (40 min away) called me to let me know my computer was there.
Dell apologized and refunded me my shipping. Never heard anything from UPS.

OK, this is getting serious. Never mind that the UPS driver gave away the BIG secret about the bike before Christmas. That's small potatoes. What he did do was he lost my balls. Well, let me clarify. A few days ago I ordered about $150 worth of purple racquetballs, which were to be delivered today. But alas, when I got back from the gym tonight, they weren't there. But knowing the MO of the UPS drivers, I immediately launched a search and recovery mission for said balls.
So I turned all the external lights on and proceeded to walk around the whole house. But, again, my balls didn't surface. The good news is that during my trek around the house, I found a package that had been placed behind a shrub, that was "delivered" about a week ago, for my wife. My question is why would the UPS driver walk by our enclosed, lighted breezeway, climb up 3 unlit stairs and walk about 20 steps around an unlit garden, to our front door, that is never used, and also unlit, and then decide to place the package behind a bush? Why didn't he just put it in the breezeway, like they've done a million times before? It must have been a replacement driver, because our normal driver knows where to drop stuff.
Anyway, back to my balls. Along with an email confirmation of my order, was a UPS tracking number. so a little while ago I clicked on the link and found that indeed, my balls should be somewhere near or around my house. According to the disclaimer on the UPS web site, "if a signature is not required, the driver can just use his discretion and drop the package anywhere he desires." Needless to say, I took another walk around the house, this time at about 10:30 P.M., still to no avail. So tomorrow, I'll block out about an hour or two and spend most of it on hold, until some person, who probably doesn't speak English, tells me that "Yes", your balls were delivered at (7:30 P.M., according to the tracking information), and is there anything else that they can help me with. What a freakin way to run a railroad.
I'm seriously p!ssed. These balls don't grow on trees, you know.

Then again my Rum balls were a great hit at the last party. Many requests for the them. They aren't purple though. I'd be interested in them.

The issue isn't that they didn't get a signature, because where I live, neither UPS or FedEx ever gets a signature. It's just that they've said it was delivered, and I never got it. Da Bums. Oh well, I guess as Fred Smith said "Christmas is dead." Glad I'm not a kid like Mayday, expecting a new Wii, or other such toy, or I'd be very unhappy.

An update: I just did another "track" of my package and now the UPS screen says "rescheduled delivery date: 18 Dec", instead of "delivered", as it had said last night. That's ok. At least I didn't have to spend time on the phone on hold, just to be told it had already been delivered.
