Nope... I take the kids skiing for a few days...then when I get home I worry about the "F" word...

If you still have your military ID, free skiing at Squaw.

Default Tahoe Ski Area Discounts

Over the last couple of years Squaw has been giving out free lift tickets to the Military, they required the active duty ID card (including Reserves and Guard).
Chances are Northstar Ski Resort has the same rules. Sugar Bowl as of last year gave all military ID card holders 50% off, not sure about this year.

Each ski resort in the Lake Tahoe area has a web site with ticket discounts listed. For example, Mt Rose offers 2-for-1 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays is half off for those over 50, and Thursdays is Lady's day.

Another option for retired military is to call Fallon NAS rec center. They have deals and will mail you tickets. REI has deals for Tahoe also.

I've never tried the Airline ID for discounts at Tahoe because of all the local discounts available. You can PM me if you have questions about skiing Tahoe.

When I still had a active duty id no problem. They act like you are an imposter airline pilot when you show your FedEx ID. Tell you the discount is only for real airline pilots.

If you're going to ski more than about 6 days at any of the Vail Resorts (Vail, BC, Keystone, Breck) plus Arapahoe Basin it is worth it to just buy a season pass. The Epic Pass was $579 this year and includes Heavenly, plus unlimited access and no blackouts at the other 5 resorts. The Colorado pass is unlimited at Keystone, Breck and the Basin plus you get 10 days at Vail or Beaver and is about 100$ cheaper depending on when you buy it. Having the pass will then allow you to buy discount tix for the rest of your family, plus you'll get emails about discounted lodging and food and what not.

Also, a month or so ago Skiing magazine had an article on 'recession proof' skiing, basically great deals around the country at different resorts.

Now someone get out to Tahoe and tell me how bottomless it is right now!

Some excellent powder skiing this last week up at Tahoe, especially Christmas Day with 12-18 inches of new snow. The best week-before- Christmas skiing I seen in years!!
