3 in Congress blast DHL | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati.Com
"We understand that DHL has yet to begin providing substantial amounts of the resources committed to assist the Wilmington area and its workers," said a letter sent Monday and signed by U.S. Sen. George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown as well as Rep. Michael Turner.
Well, no kidding! You idiots killed their deal, just like you wanted!
What an amazing example of chutzpah from the politicians in Ohio!
Let me get this straight - Ohio politicians effectively kill the UPS/DHL deal. DHL pulls out of America costing it billions. UPS loses a $10 Billion deal. Tens of thousands of DHL drivers are going to lose their jobs in a few weeks. etc.
And now, Ohio still wants DHL to donate their airport to Ohio as well as pay it more money.
I think if I were running DHL, I would tell Ohio to shove it! Freaking idiot politicians in Ohio. Sheesh.
What am I missing?

No, he didn't. OH jobs were dead either way. DHL stated in Congressional hearings that their intent was to provide 260 million to the state to help with the burden of 10,000 jobs lost in southwest OH alone. They are evidently not honoring that pledge. No surprise there. They are snakes. FR8K9 has nothing better to do than post more drivel about the DHL/UPS deal. Just when things were finally quieting down on APC.

Really... How dare them!! Didnt they realize that the Millions, wait.. probably tens if not hundreds of millions, in tax breaks and infrastructure upgrades was supposed to be a no questions asked "gift" and that the State of Ohio should be honored that DHL gave them the privilege of being bent over the kitchen sink. Ohio should be thanking DHL for coming up to ILN and giving it the old "college try" and should maybe consider giving them a few more Mil's as a consolation prize.

No "intent" stated one way or the other. Merely that the monies had been set aside. They understood that they were about to tank an entire states' unemployment system. I can see why OH fought hard to stop the deal. After all, they invested a lot in road infrastructure, etc, as bus mentioned. The ILN bypass was started specifically for the airpark, as one example. I'm not getting into all this again. I was just starting to enjoy some good natured banter on here and FR8K9 has to start hashing it all over again. This site is worthless.

The only talk on here as of late has been UPS and FedEx furlough rumors and doom and gloom. Indeed! Is that what you've been enjoying so much.
Sorry to disappoint you with a topic other than UPS or FedEx gloom!

Now back to your stated joy in other's misery.
Class act indeed, I'm sure it will come shining through in future interviews along with Penguin.

That article you posted says they are not paying what they said they would. It sounds like the severance is not being payed when they said they would. I applaud the politicians for standing up for the workers for a change. I think you would be one of the first to call them and thank them if it happened to you. Maybe you should back off and put yourself in their shoes.
