I imagine someone must have taken the time to attend this meeting? Wish I would have been in Memphis.
Please post just the factual details of what was said at the meeting, then let the opinions flow later...
Thanks

Here ya go bro's
Overall feeling to the meeting - we are screwed and we will grieve it. Lawyers in DC are drafting our response now.
BLG's are going down and the PSIT team will be fired from the process. DW sent them in to build to 68 hours and the company said "***, guess you didn't get the memo". DW expects the PSIT team to be sh1tcanned.
Job action - DW said the Union can't come out and do or say anything illegally. He said the process is outlined for a professional response. He did say he was "going back to the line" in June and "if somebody had their hand in my pocket, I wouldn't do anything extra". He did mention that "I am sure our pilots will continue to "efficiently" deliver packages to our customers".
Carryover. There are 11,000 hours of C/O built into FEB '09. That equates to 200 jobs. He said the Union's can't tell us to "protect min days off", but the Union's offer at manning mitigation to the company DID include a restriction of C/O flying. In essence, you were only allowed to fly min days. My 4 year old would be able to read into that message.
Unity. He said more than ever they are going to need our "support". One guy mentioned Fuel Sense and DW shut him down, saying I am not going there. Again, read into that as you wish. He said we need to stick together and support our NC and our Union and I believe him.
Company's intentions. He feels this is mostly brought on by PC's poor management and decision making. PC chose to hire into the right-seat and now is paying for it with a misaligned seniority list. PC put out a crappy HKG LOA and now is paying for it. Basically, PC is feeling pressure from above to cut costs that he basically created. Attacking our CBA with a lame interpretation of a rule designed for dire straits is thier plan
Excess bid. DW says there will be one "posted". He thinks it will be smaller and more precise than 08-03. He also lamented that it may too be cancelled and only used as a fear tactic.
Basically, our company needs to cut costs even though they are making money and money is on the horizon. An international postal deal, 3.5 billion dollars from DHL, and an economy that when it rebounds will be an explosive primer to our operation are not to far off in the future. He thinks this is a short-term problem but our CBA will be defended. Expect grievance/arbitration on this asap.
Furloughs. He does not think the company can or will. If one of the above mentioned items comes to fruititon we will be undermanned and the company is very careful to not be undermanned. As he put it, if a jet doesn't turn a tire due to undermanning and revenue is lost, heads roll.
There ya have it, it wasn't very lively. Nobody got loud. Everyone was very intently listening.
Convair out.

As I recall, DW said that PC would only offer a paltry stipend to live there. He said, and I paraphrase "If PC would have put a realistic stipend to live there HKG would have gone very senior". Seriously, I think that the company said "offer them $1,600...see if they take it". We didn't so they just upped it till they get 50% + 1%. I really think now is the time to put that crap in the rearview mirror. We have got to move on and support what is going on because it is A DIRECT attack on our CBA. If we don't stick together and support DW and the boys in their - what section will be next?
