Looks like you still are not going to be moving much freight in the next couple of days either, but the amount of beer you are going to consume is going to increase.

No doubt a C/O trip, does that explain why you think it is harmless.;)

For the record I had my 7.2 hours of C/O this month.

But for March BLG they will use this formula: Hours/Lines = BLG

To get the hours the bean counters use a lot of factors that I don't have a clue about. But one thing they do when they are finished is subtract the Feb C/O out. Busboy can play with the # of lines all he wants but that doesn't change the fact that the hours variable is influenced by C/O.

schizo out.

Had another thought about this carryover stuff -

The excessive carryover in the MEM MD11 bidpack creates the illusion that the MD11 requires a low average just like the Bus and the Boeing.

IMHO, the company just wants the different bidpacks, other than HKG and 757, to have relatively similar line averages. The MD11 is less overmanned than the Airbus and the 727.

Ok Grasshopper,

Here's the deal. Go read your contract and tell me what is used to calculate RLG. That is the context that I answered the original post. Not what could, should, can, will etc be done with those hours.

By the way, not once have I taken a stand or even mentioned anything positive about keeping C/O as it is.

You've got your emotional blinders on. Not every answer to every question on here is about what could, should, can happen.

Some answers are actually about the here and now, and how RLG is actually done is the way I answered.

Thank you master I now see the big picture. C/O has nothing to do with BLG hence nothing to do with RLG (these aren't the droids I am looking for). I can't understand why the union is trying to restrict it. But just for fun lets look at Gunters post and your reply:

Has anyone added up the MD11 carryover?

Any of you MD cats upset about how much more a reserve line would be worth without it?

Not sure what you mean? RLG is based on 96% of BLG. C/O has no impact on RLG or BLG

Yeah I have blinders on.

Not that it's super-important or even pertinent to this thread, but there isn't exactly a direct relationship between #'s of freight and revenue. It seems like that is what you are implying. Sorry for stating the obvious.

I give.... Look at the bid pack. Is RLG value printed in the bid pack in any way based on the C/O in the bid pack? NO!

Could they change those trips to minimize the C/O and thus creating more lines? Yes, and you have a keen sense of the obvious on this point.

One point is how the value of RLG is calculated. Another point is that they could use those hours to build lines with slight modifications to the trips and thus increasing or decreasing the BLG once those lines are built. Will it cause BLG to go up or down? Who knows....

See the 2 different points here?

Grasshopper's question of the day.....

If they take the C/O hours out and rebuild the trips to be put on lines is it still then C/O or is it simply trips in the bid pack? :)
