Puppy, I think after all the reshuffle you'll still be based in ONT... Probably much more familiar with Red Roof or Holiday Inn but ONT-based nevertheless...

Counting only over-60 FO's, in addition to the 24 senior 747 FO's in ANC, there are 19 senior FO's who have been awarded L48 seats.
There are also up to 37 (depending on the bypass rules) senior DC8 FE's who can upgrade to either seat. Some of these are on medical, and some do not have bids in, so it is hard to predict how many would upgrade. My guess is 25-30 would upgrade if their choice is available.
In order to get past these groups, there will have to be more vacancies than realigned positions, hopefully many more.

Roberto,
Any idea how many of those senior FO's/FE's are 63+? The company could keep them in their current seat/domicile and give them Capt pay to minimize seat changes. The wild card will be what age the company uses for bypass pay protection.

Using an assumed effective date for the bid of 22 June, I think about 15 of the 37 FE's (I had already cut 6 who would be 64 1/2+) would be 63+, and about 11 of the 43 FO's.

A senior ANC FO can upgrade to CAPT. Most are planning to do that from what I have heard. Why would they not. The commute REALLY SU@#$!!!
You are correct about the seat lock except for someone that was displaced and did not take a move package. Those can bid a lower 48 seat as soon as their seniority can hold it.
Isn't this fun?

I am pretty sure even if you are displaced AND took a move package you could bid back to the lower 48, seniority permitting.
Unless there is a restriction elsewhere, all that I know of is that a crewmember that does this, would owe the company for 100 % of the move if in the first 12 months, then 33 % or less prorating from month 13 to 18.
For those already in ANC for over a year, not so bad. Depends on the size of the package, so to speak, for a recent displacee. The move package that is !
Some folks may have only shipped a car, not an entire household.
Just FWIW, another variable to muddy the waters !

Speaking from experience....
I was hired into ANC and took the move package for a 3 year committment. After living there for 4 months, I was displaced to the panel and that cancelled my previous obligation. I took another company paid move to SDF.
Total company expense for 2 moves w/ 2 cars = ~$69k

Not sure how you can only ship a car. It was an all or nothing deal.

Maybe if I get bumped from my window seat in the lower 48, I'll try and bid DC8 FE. May or may not make it to training but at least I could upgrade to FO over those other transitions.
