Isn't it all facts? Is it so hard to understand?

Can't believe I just wasted 2 min. on you.

Yes, it is hard to understand. If this place is so horrible and life sucks so bad, I would be looking for alternatives. I have a degree in something else, I just had a baby and I don't want to be gone from him. I have thought about how it would be to leave UPS and go do something else. I have come to the conclusion that it's not worth it. I don't go around saying "if you don't like it, do something else" loosely. If I don't like something and I am miserable, I look for alternatives and make changes. Life's too short to be miserable.

Never give up pay. You will never get it back NEVER. I rather be on the street and come back to a high paying job. Please don't vote to lower pay.

Have you ever worked for a company that has lowered pay to reduce furlows? Has lowering pilot pay ever helped a part 121 company? NEVER lower pay or BLG. Such a mistake. Let me come back to a good place to work. Not some piece of crap gutted contract.

Well said Jim. Don't give them a dime, we won't see it for a long time, look at history on this one.

Lowering our pay won't help the problem at all. UPS is still very profitable, the problem is lack of business and therefore less flying happening. If the economy doesn't pick up pretty soon you will definitely see furloughs here.

A few things can help us that are near the bottom of the list. UPS offering a buyout to senior guys, No opentime and JA, UPS trying to stimulate demand by lowering prices or going after more bulk cargo.

I don't have the exact number but I think I heard that there will be about 10 DC8's flying at the end of the year. We have 29 767's coming in the next few years. Unless they mess with that order at least there will some expansion to coincide with the increase in retirements starting next year.

How many engines does a DC-8 have and what is a flight engineer? I guess I'll learn. Oh well, the company is going to have to move me again. The first time cost them 30 thousand. This one will be much more. They will have to pay all realtor fees and such on this house and closing costs on one in Sdf. At least I'll be in the lower 48 if F does come. Hey Brother...keep space in your basement for me and the family!

To add to that, some things we can do is have more people sign up for CRAF, and get the manglers in the union and under our work rules. I remember reading that UPS would like to do more CRAF work, but doesn't have enough crew members signed up. Don't know how true that is, but if B.O. is gonna completely pull out from Iraq in 18 months as promised, there should be some opportunities.

Those 29 767s can be defered at any time; airlines do it all the time.

It blows me away that there are people here hinting a pay-cut. Unbelievable!!!

You don't want to be gone from your family? Why did you become a pilot?
