Ups lies to customers

UPS does not offer us a discount and they never did. They explained in new hire school that they treat our shipping needs as they would any other customer/consumer. Being that those are the ground rules, I treat them the same way. If they are the cheapest with the best service, they get the nod. Let the free market reign!

Brown is helping pay the bills so we try and support them. Cheaper isn't always the answer, just look at our profession. We try not to participate in the Wal-mart society any more than what is forced upon us. Each to their own though that's what makes America great

Let's see. Send a 50 pound box of rubber dog poop from Boston to San Diego on UPS:
Service Guaranteed By UPS Next Day Air Early A.M.® 291.38 USD*
UPS Next Day Air® 258.05 USD*
UPS Next Day Air Early A.M.® 275.25 USD*
Same package shipped on FedEx: W/O Discount W/Discount
FedEx Priority Overnight®................255.47 / 63.87
FedEx First Overnight®...................272.67 / 68.16
FedEx Standard Overnight®.............233.71 / 58.43
So, please tell me again, being airline pilots (read CHEEEP), which of you would ship on UPS, if you were able to ship on FedEx with the Airline Discount?

UPS has too many employees to offer a discount. It's just a simple math issue where you cannot offer almost half a million people a deep discount. FedEx isn't nearly the size of UPS.
UPS just figures that most of us won't use the competition out of loyalty. It actually works for me. I could never ship something FedEx, sorry.

Some people will take paycuts to "save the company" but they will not pay a tiny fraction of that amount more to the company, but rather ship it cheaper with the competition.
Strange.

jetjok,
I buy the maximum amount of stock that I can through the UPS discounted stock purchase program offered to employees.
I don't own any FedEx stock.
Your turn - if UPS ground is cheaper than sending via FedEx, would you ship with UPS? Basically, would you ship UPS if it was cheaper than FedEx?
