Hey, you asked. I answered. I'm sorry you didn't like the answer. Next time, don't ask if you don't want to hear the answer. I never said UPS sucks, you did. What I said was that I have lots of ongoing problems getting stuff delivered by UPS.

Sorry, no thanks. Not gonna use FedEx.
UPS has too many employees to offer a discount. It's just a simple math issue where you cannot offer almost half a million people a deep discount. FedEx isn't nearly the size of UPS.
UPS just figures that most of us won't use the competition out of loyalty. It actually works for me. I could never ship something FedEx, sorry.

I don't buy that UPS employees using the more expensive shipping method out of loyalty either. I'm sure some do, but human nature being what it is I would bet that most use the cheapest rather than the home brand.
I think this is a good place to work and it's my second airline (I left UAL not furloughed). I may pay for my choice in the short term but think there is more security here in the long run than there or I wouldn't have made the choice I did.

How can UPS afford to offer you a discounted stock purchase program, what with all its "almost half a million people"? Anyway, I'm glad they do, and that you take full advantage of that opportunity.
Personally, I don't own any FedEx stock, or for that matter, any stock at all right now.
If UPS was cheaper, either by air or ground, I wouldn't ship with them. Not because I'm loyal to FedEx, although I am, but because I find their (UPS's) delivery service lacking in so many ways. For one, I hate to have to trek all over my property to find a package that they "delivered", behind a bush, on a stone wall, or just outside the garage. What makes it worse is when I'm not expecting a delivery. Then I'm really screwed, because I don't even know to look for it. We have an enclosed breezeway, between the garage and the house, which is our main entry way. Everyone uses it to gain entry. Everyone that is except the various UPS drivers, who just chuck our stuff wherever it is convenient for them. All other delivery services just come into the breezeway and place their packages on the table there. I bought a new car a few weeks ago, and had to order, on-line, snow tires and rims. The shipper didn't offer FedEx, so they were delivered via UPS. I ordered them on December 31st. They were shipped on Jan. 2nd, and I was told to expect delivery on Jan 7th. So I was very surprised to see the UPS truck pull up next to my house on Jan 6th. I put on my coat and was prepared to go out and help him carry each tire/rim combination into the breezeway, until he just dropped the first one by the mailbox, about 100 feet from the house. After he dropped the second one, next to the first one, I told myself, "forget it." After he dropped all 4 sets, off he went. No signature, no nothing. I then went and carried them into the garage for mounting. We are lucky in that there is very little theft in our neighborhood, but come on, these were a thousand dollars worth of stuff, and he just did the minimum possible. That's why I don't ship on UPS.

I worked receiving for a large company in college. The UPS driver would deliver the boxes by kicking them out of the back of the truck. I saw him do this for the 1.5 years I worked there. Whenever he was on vacation, sick or whatever his replacement carried the boxes out with a hand truck like everyone else. I think your driver is not doing the company any favors with his actions, however I don't think he is the norm. I don't blame you for not using UPS for that reason alone. However, I'm sure there is a feedback method (online or via phone) that would probably remedy that situation.

I have called a number of times and talked with someone about this ongoing issue, for the most part, to no avail. Our normal driver does put stuff where we expect it, but anytime a new driver delivers, it's usually not done right.
Listen, I'm not bashing UPS, regardless of what you think. You asked if I'd ship with them if they offered a discount. I said NO and explained why. You need to chill out dude. It's nothing personal. I'm sure that you deliver the packages in a professional manner.

Didn't you use to work here or something? Did you quit... or were you fired?

Why would you put a post on a forum about how poor your own companies service is? Why is it bad that other people can see? Well - I think it has to do with the bottom line. If they have one dissatisfied customer, all they have to say is "oh well, sucks to be him". If many people know about one persons treatment through a service (an employee no less), and the money coming in starts flowing at a slower rate, then they will wake up.
Thanks OP for bringing up your concerns. It won't dissuade me from shipping UPS in the future but I will remain vigilant that they provide as-advertised services.
