Dang, I worked last weekend. Which union do I need to join? AFSCME?

Why should he come to the table with something stronger than special skills? Just because you don't think people should be paid what they are worth or contribute does not mean everyone thinks that way.

Support your local union. You know, the guys that brought you the weekend,

When you get out of high school and have to earn a living and pay for things you might understand.

Hey, if the consumer is willing to pay $10 for a McD's cheeseburger, then I say benefits for all my friends...

Default FEDEX Will Furlough 300

Having flown for 3 airlines the last one being AA I know what furlough is all about. I heard from a FEDEX Capt. that pink slips will be going out, but once again it's another rumor. We are a bunch of suckers in the first place for putting up with all the rumor nonsense. Last year I decided to call it quits and left for Japan. I'm an instructor here and home every night-living across the street from the beach isn't bad either. Hope all you guys keep your jobs and/or find new ones. God Bless

Well, I'm a FedEx Capt and say your rumor is all wrong! We are actually going to furlough 3000 How's that for a ridiculous rumor.

Interesting thing is 300 is the number UPS is throwing around. Maybe you were confused about who you were talking to.

Did you call it quits at FedEx or call it quits waiting to get hired on? As far as furlough rumors, it is unlikely at this point unless the economy continues to tank, which the White House seems to be working hard on...

I heard UPS was going to furlough 150-that rumor came from an ex DHL pilot "Last week". The FedEx rumor came from a FedEx CA, but may be a bit dated. I was at Airborne and went to AA because of the DHL rumors, which came true. Here's a good rumor-the economy is going to turn around by the end of 09 and all airlines will be hiring in 2010.

I was offered a job with FedEx years ago, but having flown night freight I had no interest in doing it any more-I didn't realize what a weird life I was living until I left that kind of flying. On days off I would sleep until 1PM. Advantages: I was hell at parties, No alarm clock, more time off. Disadvantages: Grey pasty appearance, couldn't stand sun light, began craving blood.

"So touchy about the rumor mill" If Grand Ma stops sending those cookies-even FedEx and UPS night freight "furlough proof" jobs will be lost. They're management and all they care about is profits. Don't worry so much-I heard a rumor Airborne Express is hiring.
