FDX Furlough Mitigation Poll
#3
Hey the FedEx MEC took a poll. What makes you think they will heed the results?
Past performance? Not likely.
I'd love to see it, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe in several years, if ALPA can consistently prove to me that they are actually following the results of their incessant polls, I will actually bother to pick up my phone and participate in one.
After the age change debacle, where our illustrious "leaders" made their decisions and recommendations before the polling even finished, I realized I had a lot better things to do with my time than answer questions that the source really doesn't want the answer to.

I'm in agreement with the MEC polling the membership but it would be interesting to find out what the polling costs , especially to poll 1200 of us for the recent furlough mitigation poll (instead of the usual 200 of us)?
My question is ... why would they poll us if they intend to tell us what our opinion is going to be (i.e. Age 65, FDA LOA), or simply make their decisions independent of the polling data.

The questions posted are exactly what I was asked by Wilson polling. The results reflect my answers too. Which questions/results do you feel are not spot on?

How about the "who do you find more credable" question--Management or the ALPA?
27% - about the same
35% - Union somewhat
31% - Union Much More
That's 27% of us that don't know who to trust. Disturbing, but not surprising after the age 60 fiasco and sub standard LOA that only 32% of us voted against. How do we have any leverage to dispute pairings in HKG due to ground transportation when 68% of us voted for the LOA that bought off on it in the first place? I think you will find that the 27% of us that don't know who to trust are the same dudes who voted againist the LOA.

I don't know, where do we find Captains who can't read? I said nothing about my needs. I simply said that I will not participate in polls by an organization that doesn't heed the results of the polls. Why waste my time? If you feel that you should, go ahead.
If, over time, ALPA and our MEC prove to me that they are actually willing to follow the results of their polls, I might reconsider and take part in them.
Its about all of our needs, not mine.
Got it?
