Amerijet getting 767

I just saw this online:

ATSG unit signs aircraft lease deal - Business Courier of Cincinnati:

I bet they're dusting off the old training contracts as I type this:cool:

The question is whether these are expansion or replacement of the current 727's.

Amerijet pilots,

Beware that the 767's you are receiving from ATSG are coming from ABX Air. ABX Air has a pilot contract that does not allow them to dry lease. They are trying to get around this by transfering the aircraft to another ATSG company (CAM) and using them as the lessor. Shady, dirty, airline management BS.
I would like to think you would care that fellow pilots are being screwed by this scam, but I'm sure you're happy to have our 767's. I hope you never have to go through what I and currently 187 pilots and their families are dealing with. And if you ever have been furloughed, shame on you! Over 400 pilots will be unemployed by the end of June.
This deal did not cause the furloughs at ABX Air, but it gave ATSG an excuse to pursue contracts that will "Not" keep ABX Air pilots employed. So, as most of you are gloating about your new fleet, I just hope you never need a jumpseat from a former ABX Air pilot! Also, enjoy the training program in Wilmington. It will be ABX Air Check Airmen training and evaluating you. ABX's training program is one of the toughest in the industry. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Red,

I am in the same boat as you are (losing/lost a good job I assume), and by no means related to Amerijet, I don't even know what kind of company it is, but what do you really expects these guys to do? Just walk away from a job? I feel your pain, but management is screwing the industry, I don't think any of us intended to be in the middle of this battle.

Hopefully things will finally turn around one day and we can enjoy the long lost "pilot shortage"...

It sounds like you have a bone to pick with management. No reason to start a jumpseat war against other pilots that have done nothing malicious to you.

Moonkey and RU4692,

I didn't give you all the facts. Amerijet pilots know exactly what I'm talking about. Some have come on board our 767's in MIA boasting about how they are getting ABX 767's and its because they are willing to fly for half of ABX pilot wages. If you run into any amerijet pilots just ask them what they make or what union represents them? After you do that you'll understand my disgust with the situation. Pilot's that are willing to fly 767's for commuter wages are a threat to all professional aviators!

With all due respect Baron,
Is this anything new??? American Airlines 80for80, MD80for80bucks an hour, mainline to the commuters United's mainline flying dished out to Mesa and Skywest to name a few? The list goes on... and on... I have been there, been the victim. I mean no disrespect but what does one do? Wish there was an answer. Some jaggoff will always do it cheaper, not better!!! Then brag about it. I feel for ya. If I were smart I would get out.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Anybody that boasts about how I'm gonna fly your airplanes I would show him the bottom of the stairs of the aircraft then close the door. As for the good people at Amerijet you cant expect them to not fly aircraft that show up on their door step given the times we are in. Red how long are you senior boys gonna let Hete/Graber walk all over you. I was ready to walk last x-mas but our union said we shouldnt do that. I dont give a crap what ABX wants and I dont give a crap what the senior pilots at ABX want per hour to fly the 76....hell 150.00 per hr sounds good to me as I sit here on my second furlough....I want my severance!!!!!! Why dont you guys grow a pair and hit the sidewalk! Let em sue you. Tell them to grieve it and we'll see ya in 6 years. With all the bad press at ABX I'm thinking you might stand a chance in court. For you Amerijet boys if what Red says is true you might want to muzzle those loudmouths and go quietly into the night.

Red Baron 02-18-2009 06:57 PM

Ultra,
Back off amigo, I'm furloughed also. You don't have to rant and rave to me about the scew job we are getting. Like you, I wake up to this nightmare every morning. Send your rage to ABX management and 1224 management. My point about the Amerijet pilots is they are shoving the misery in our faces and laughing as we choke on the sh*t sandwich!
