Default The Signup Link is On!! UPS Volunteer Program

The link is hot to sign up for the volunteer programs! This is a unique chance for many of us to help the group while helping ourselves and taking a break. Something significant to truly consider. With the group volunteering airline wide, we could actually see level to forward movement in the group. With a number of retirements, VLOAs, and the Job Share, consider this..... we could see significant forward movement because there will be effectively 200-300 less guys (senior and junior guys) off the list at any given time. Interesting

Would love to hear what you think the chances of success are. By success I mean no furloughs and business as usual for everyone on the list besides those on mil leave, VLOA, job sharing etc. Also, if we get say 38 million and are short of the 40 mill goal, what happens? I know legally UPS could furlough, but then it seems they would be getting two bites of the apple in that mil leaves and VLOA in addition to furloughs would drastically cut sosts.

UPS doesn't get both! We don't sign up for the programs, miss it by a few million and then the company takes the savings and furloughs too!! Read the MOU.

You can't undue the savings achieved when someone commits to a military deployment. Many of the ANC FOs are doing just that. Geez do I have to explain everything or can you try to think outside the box.

Roughly:

55-60 Year olds get to retire early without penalty on their A Plan. + Keep their medical insurance till 65.

60-65 Year olds get to retire with an added year computed into their A Plan. + Keep medical till 65.

I wouldn't hold my breath on many 60+ guys taking. Spoke with two the other night. One said he would retire if only the company had a decent retirement program (I assume meaning money he didn't need to save himself). The other said he was already giving up $3,000 per month so the junior guys could have a B plan...

Whatever...
