Default UPS: No more B757 after peak??!!

Had one of the mangler pilot on the J/S the other on the way back from Asia, and the word (rumor) was the B757s will slowly be phased out sometime after peak.

Who else is getting sick of this joint and the backward movement and job threats??

I am.....

B727s.....gone

B747s.....bu bye

DC-8s......SEE YA

B757s......Say it ain't so!!!

Next displacement will be to the trucks.

Maybe I can hold bunkie on the trucks. Can the IPA get us DOH on the truckers' seniority list? I want weekends off.

Amazing if true...we're getting rid of them and FedEx is getting them. What's the plan then? I can see maybe parking the oldest ones, but all of them??? How?

It would probably be a good rumor for the company to start to get the next rounds of concessions.

That I'd believe. However, the giving is done. I haven't talked to one person willing to give anything more next round, including myself. Maybe a few if they genuinely wanted the time off but if they expect participation at last rounds levels...

here we go again....

If they park all the 757, they would have to furlough over 1000 pilots.

Doubtful.

and they would have to hire 200 more managers to write all the new bulletins.

Yeah, I heard that rumor a while back... Supposedly the new 767s were replacing the older 757s and not DC8s as we all thought... Who knows... I think by the time someone in ATL might get serious about this rumor the economy will have turned around and as always we'll be behind the power curve on hiring instead of getting rid of more airplanes...

Sorry to butt in, but it seems that you've beaten the "company" in starting this rumor. The good news is that now you UPS guys will have something more to fret about. Rumors suck.
