Evergreen
Hey, any post on here that have to with Evergreen QOL etc.? I did some searching only found two posts. Any help would be great.
|
not bad if ur on the dreamlifter, 16 on and great pay.
|
Great bunch of pilots here with Evergreen. Most fun I have had since I started flying. Quality of life is good. Example, you get two weeks off each month. You also get an entire month off for vacation. So it is possible to get two months off depending on how you bid around your vacation.
In negotiations for our first ALPA contract. The salary should be a lot better once the contract gets ratified. :) |
Are you guys home based?
Are there reserve lines or does everybody get 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off? Glad to hear you guys are hiring and are doing well. |
How does one go about applying? I've talked with the pilot recruiter and he didn't really seem like he had the time to waste talking with me. I've sent my resume a few times, but nothing. What's the best way to get some attention?
|
Has the application window already closed? The only pilot position listed on their website is for a B-214 pilot in Afghanistan.

If you can find the on-line application, then filling it out would be a good option. I didn't know about the on-line application until I was in ground school. You will have to fill out a paper application during the interview regardless of the on-line application.
The best way to get attention is to Mail, Fax, e-mail a resume multible times. A rec from a current Evergreen pilot opens doors too. I didn't know anyone and just sent enough resumes and finally got the call. The interview is just a "get to know you" type. If you get an interview; you have a 85% chance of getting hired. We are hiring, so if you want to come over here, this is a good time. As always, it is better to get on earlier than later. |

Two weeks on two weeks off is the norm. We do have some hard lines that are one week on and one week off, but those lines go very senior. |
[quote=Green Giant;739998]The bases are JFK, CHS, PAE and SUU. PAE is Everette airport North of Seattle and SUU is outside Sacramento California.

SUU went half half on the F/O side. Either you are real senior or you are real junior. Captain went extremely senior.

International Cargo is where its at! If you try that approach I would show up at 8AM in the lobby and would be ready to interview at that time. To me it is an all or nothing approach, if they send you away then you most likely will not hear anything. Might work might not. Depends on the mood of the day. To be honest I have never heard of anyone getting hired by walking in, but it would also show your motivation for working there. If anything you could enjoy the museam with the Spruce Goose across the street if things don't go well. |
Forgot to mention, the management types are in McMinnville.

Good luck to all of you who want to work here. Great place to be with lots of expansion potential.
My advice......never give up and keep trying while improving your qualifications. Sooner or later the hard work will result in a call. We like people who show that they really want to be here. :D |

Just a guess, but probably went to United or USAIRWAYS before the big pay cuts and layoffs happened. I had a "crashpad" roomate in Pittsburgh from World and another from Polar. They both said, as everyone was laid off, that they should never have left their former employer.

Ill tell you why. Someone posted the recruiters number on a webboard and his phone has been ringing all hours at home and work. The way to get hired at Evergreen is by internal rec. So find a friend of a friend that works there and that'll get your paperwork up the pile. |

The medical isn't too bad, not as good as other airlines, but not horrible. Just yourself is about$100 a month and a family is like $280 I think. We are CASS No, you will not get PAE. You will most likely get the Classic in JFK. Possibility of new hires in the 400 in the future, but not right now. Commutable? Depends on where you live. You only have to go to work once a month and get home once, so usually not a problem. |

Depends, some months you can get 80 hrs, some you sit for 16 days and get paid for the 65. Most months people are getting extended to 18 days right now cause the choose to understaff. Just count on guarantee and anything extra is a bonus and you be alright.

Right now just the LCF. Those are the only 400's we have....as soon as we get BCF's or 400F's....those too.

The only pilot job they show on the website, at least that I could find, was in Afghanistan. No thanks. Any words of wisdom??
|
Afghanistan is lovely this time of year. and your going to be going ther. weather your with the airlines or the helicopter's. ther may be direct hiring into the 400's later in the year. the bidding is going real junior as the upper f/o's are awaiting upgrades. but with no expansion and the geezers hanging on the bids may change. who knows?
|
I'd say you're whether their is grate.

Thats not how I got incontact with the recruiter. I simply called HQ and asked to be conected with the pilot recruiter, easy as that. |

Based on the latest standing bid (1st Qtr. 2010, issued in Dec. 2009) the junior guy on the line (also the most junior guy with a LCF bid) will go to LCF training in July 2010. There's been hiring since then (4 in December, 4 in January I think, and likely 4 more will start in February as well), but nobody knows what their bids are yet. We were told that approximately 34 guys would potentially be hired this year, but we're told a lot of things that don't come true. Like most airlines, until you:
Let's hope the hiring continues, not just here, but at other companies too. |
Latest rumor I heard, from a reliable source, is that the hiring is for B747-400F and B747-400BCF expansion. Eventually new hires will go directly into the -400.
One more B747-400LCF will be here next month with three B747-400BCF to be delivered before 2011. There are plenty of B747-400F and B747-400BCF's parked in the desert. There is speculation that more B747-400's will show up and if so you can expect more hiring. Like everyone says, believe the rumors when you are walking out to fly it. |

Also, I hear Atlas is recalling. |
