Default FDX - 777 bid out

100 capt, 75 F/o, Future bids planned for 2010...

Attached, please find Posting 09-06 dated September 3, 2009. This posting
includes vacancy positions for 100 MEM 777 Captains and 75 MEM 777 First
Officers. This posting and all pertinent bidding information is available
for download from the pilot.fedex.com website.

As always, it is extremely important that you update your standing bid and
that it reflects what you want to fly. Your standing bid and seniority
will be the final determining factors when this vacancy posting is
awarded. The bid opens today, September 3, 2009 and will close at 1400z
on Thursday, September 17, 2009.

Secondary Vacancies
Secondary vacancies will be evaluated at the close of the bid.

Practice Bid
There will be two practice bids; Wednesday, September 9th and Monday,
September 14th.

Future Bids
We anticipate a Spring/Summer 2010 posting to address pilot attrition
through retirement along with additional positions required for B777F and
B757 aircraft deliveries.

Nice. Hopefully there will be a lot of retirements this fall so the spring bid is big.

So.......

Anxious to see the Oct Bidpacks.

4.A.2.b.?? overmanned?? "to prevent or delay a furlough"??

not really sure how the company can continue to perpetrate that lie in light of this written confession that we now need bodies??

or......can they?

what makes u think we need bodies?
Notice the decrease in md10s-this may
be more of a realignment. Check out the
average blg and average secondary line
blg-hasn't increased and I don't expect
some huge leap from sep to oct.

ok.....so.....

you're the company.....build your case for the arbitrator...

(in light of this most recent posting of 100 wide body captain vacancies AND the now planned posting for the Summer of 2010 for "attrition" and additional aircraft deliveries)

that there is still a need to furlough......

that's ALL 4.A.2.b. is about (theoretically) - PREVENTING FURLOUGH...period.

I think that our union should be at PC's office this afternoon DEMANDING the buyups to 68/85 resume with the Oct bid period.
