From what I can determine he is a recent hire just senior enough to not be directly threatened by the layoff. He does feel he has been on the property long enough to know everything and to kick the pilots who have been at UPS a long time on this forum.
As you can see from other posts on this topic he has been corrected.

If your friend gets the discount please ask him/her to share how? I've tried to ship from BNA, MEM and LAX on different occations and each time the answer was "you guys aren't in our system, sorry." Again, I don't blame FDX - why should you? We don't reciprocate...
You have to go on-line and first establish an account (Customer Service FedEx). With the account number in hand, call the FedEx account service number (sorry, I don't have it) and tell them you're an airline employee and they will "tag" your account with the discount.
Anytime you ship, just use your account number...the discount is automatic at that point...no ID, no uniform, no questions.
If that's what you have already tried...............disregard then

Sorry about the jumpseat issue; plenty of our guys/gals bumping other ups pilots too. I wish we had a way to reserve and lock a seat...

If you are trying to get the discount at the shipping office when you ship, they don't run or give the discount there.
You have to go on-line and first establish an account (Customer Service FedEx - Fed Ex Customer Service - FedEx Customer Satisfaction Center). With the account number in hand, call the FedEx account service number (sorry, I don't have it) and tell them you're an airline employee and they will "tag" your account with the discount.

As far as the account number, I'll look that up for sure. A few years back while still at my previous airline I asked if I could open an account and they said I could but that only FDX employees would get a discount using that method. Non-FDX pilots had to ship in person to get the discount. Maybe that info was incorrect or maybe it's changed but if there truly is a way I'm gonna be very excited as I ship a lot to my folks back home.
Sorry about the thread drift but getting y'alls discount all over again would be so great!

I thought we didn't get SWA discount and in each post I clarified that I wasn't sure. When I was corrected, I thanked him/her for correcting me. Sorry you feel that way. I am not kicking anyone. If you look at the age 65 debate even when I talked to Roberto I wished him to get his seat back even though I didn't agree with the law change.
Not sure why you felt you had to berate me here...

Why did you say that? I thought we've had pretty cordial discussions in the past? I assume it's the age 65 deal that got you upset? If so, you did see the smiley face after my reply to you, right?

However, if you can get an account and have the discount put on your account, it's automatic, you can print a label from the PC at home, and drop it into any FDX box.

I know that this won't be a popular thought, at least for some, but I'm wondering why FedEx would offer UPS employees our traditional 75% discount? That discount has traditionally been given to other airlines, who usually give us a good deal on ticket pricing, both for scheduled deadheads as well as ID-90's, etc. With that in mind, why carry, for a largely reduced rate, items from UPS employees, when we get nothing in return? Isn't it all about business, where the old saying "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" prevails? And last I looked, UPS and FedEx were rivals, in the same business, providing the same services. My comment is not about pilots, it's about doing business, and maximizing ones profits.
Furthermore, it would be good to get a true and accurate reading of what is allowed and what is not, and if UPS employees are not allowed to ship, then it would seem appropriate to me that they stop trying to do so.
