Anyone notice that you can now look at your leveling for the entire month rather than just a few days ahead? Wonder why they lifted that veil of secrecy.

What difference does it make, it worthless info anyway. Besides, just because your at the bottom of the list doesn't mean they won't use you.

Sorry about the thread creep but ... late last night, on a whim, I requested to drop 2 R days (fully expecting to get the automatic, "DENIED" due to insufficient reserves).
APPROVED!
Maybe that means we have sufficient reserves now (interestingly, the exact same request had been previously DISAPPROVED)?

Just a hunch - The "denied" messages could be used against them in arbitration. It's also somewhat problematic when trips are allowed to be dropped on the same day. This exposes the low reserve utilization sham. Can't reasonably claim low reserve utilization (overmanning) while "denying" all attempts to drop R days.
There are other possibilities. One is that too much draft (trip extension) was paid out while playing the "denied" game. Better for the bottom line to let us open up our schedules to do the extras at straight pay.
Does anyone actually buy the bull that computer modeling is used to approve or deny requests? The wide variances indicate arbitrary human involvement.

Tried to move an rday 10 or 15 times. Just wanted to move a day from the first day of a 4 day string to the end of the same string. DENIED due to insufficient reserves. Then I put in a drop request for that day and it was approved. Can't really figure that one out. If you have insufficient reserves shouldn't they have denied the drop too?

Drop an R Day (lose 1 R day of pay) - OK
Move an R Day (same pay) - Not so OK

Well it looks like the MD staffing model is still out of whack in ANC. This morning I was assigned a double DH 4 day hotel standby in ANC as a MEM FO on R24. Too bad I have the flu and out sick this week, trip went to a RA pilot.
