I've been harping on the reduction of reserves for months now. They keep lowering the number. This month we have only 44 R lines in the MD MEM FO. I keep hoping we will hold the line, but it never seems to happen. I get tired of guys continuing to fly 120 hour lines (two pilots worth). But, in the end, all I can do is fly my line and nothing else.
gaf-you are right, all we can do is do our part and hope that our peers one day decide to see the big picture. I'm doing my part.

I wonder what would happen if we put up signs in the hubs, calling for no draft or volunteer while we are in 4a2b. Treat them like non-members...this is just like contract negotiations, if an MD-11 doesn't move because we are "overmanned," the problem WILL get addressed and fixed!

They wouldn't stay up long. How about the Union coming out with a message line saying "it has been a really stressful 10 or 11 months and that at this time of year we really think it's important that every crew member spend as much time as you can with your families." Problem solved, point made.

4.a.2.b sucks for pay purposes, but I've loved my time at home with the family. Thanks for the extra days off Uncle Fred.

Well for us that can only hold reserve, we have only one extra day off, but a 13 hour pay cut. 4a2b has not given us extra family time!

I got to RLG with my flying the last two months. The part of the contract that allows a trip with greater than 50 hour TAFB to be assigned out of leveling order needs to be changed. I bet more than 50 percent of our flying consists of trips that are greater than 50 TAFB.
