fdx trip 4246

i was draft called for this trip @0830 on the 24th. I decided today would be better spent Christmas shopping even tho it pays 8+21 (x1.5) or roughly $1500.
The good news is that 25 minutes later it was still in open for my seat(B727 f/o). I guesss other people may also be making their PERSONAL CHOICE to do other things. Another similar trip still not filled for all 3 seats.

(at least as an FO) - don't know if Captains can see what pay code their FO and/or SO are on or not?
But.....if they were drafting for the trip.....one could a$$-u-me someone might be on draft if they are on the trip??

Correct. You can only see your pay code. You used to be able to see everyone's code but when folks were (rightfully) challenged about it during the 200% fiasco and negotiations, the codes were removed. Many folks did the right thing at showtime and showed the rest of the crew their paycode.

I did see that 3 airport stby's did NOT get filled (right seat 727) for this AM. Looks like they needed both capt and f/o on 4192, 4194, and 4196. One of them actually canceled! Wonder if the back-seaters were on draft. This will likely be happening more and more come closer to holidays with such few reserves in each seat! Hopefully people can resist the draft calls.

Once again, thanks to all who choose to spend time with their families, hobbies, etc. If it weren't for this forum I might feel alone in CHOOSING not to be drafted . I have no idea what % of the force is also making this choice but I thank all those who do.
I bought my wife a used BMW vert this summer that she's wanted for at least 15 years. Since 4a2b I've chosen to stay home enough times to easily have paid for the new/used car.
I know a lot of you are also PERSONALLY CHOOSING to pass it up. Thank You

Looks like they had to get a captain for 2 days in a row to sit right seat in the Boeing. Trip 119 in OT all day is finally gone (gone to a capt). Overmanned.... we sure are!!
If no one did draft for one day, how much freight would get left behind? Others have said it, and I agree. We are going to see several service failures in the future with the lack of reserves.
