Ok. So what you are saying is that BT is in consult with Black (Dorsey case winner) and S.F. and R.D. are in consult with Katz (who wrote the 1995 letter that told the company the manglers are not the same class and craft). So what do you think is BT's plan?

SB,
Exactly. We want the jobs, not them. The trick I guess is how we go about getting those jobs.

I totally agree.

I'm not sure how they can extend it. the deal was, all or nothing. I gave what I did so that they wouldn't furlough through 2011, not so they could play us on the string for another year and then furlough anyway. The MOU was pretty specific about this. I just upped the ante and went all in, another two bid periods of job share. If they won't commit to no furlough through the end of the MOU period, then I want my $45,000 back.

I'm hopeful that they won't furlough and I do think that they are bluffing, but I also think that the junior guys would be better served by someone besides thrush at the helm. Luckily for you, our constitution and by laws are a mess, and he has no more power than anyone else on the board.

He is prepared to play chicken with your jobs and if it happens on his watch I expect a testostorone explosion from the company just to set the ground rules about who is really in charge around here.

THANKS, I guess the extra time off is OK with the boss and children !

As it should be, we don't need a King of the union.

Who IS really in charge here ? :D

It may be coming back, but a lot has changed. they are consolidating hubs and cities, cutting the need for a lot of flights. The DC8's were grounded and we are paying many of those crews to sit around with their thumbs up their rears while they wait for training dates. In the mean time, Airbus guys are flying extra to make the thing work. We probably over hired in anticipation of the age 60 retirements, and we all know what happened there.

We were totally hosed from that moment. I don't think it will be a power grab by the age 50-65 people. Thanks to Bob, there won't be much to grab by anyone. At least our contract will be "well defended".

Sour grapes? Sure, but I don't know how else to take his public statements.

As far as the Katz letter, it will probably come out, but does not necessarily have to, unless BT losses, or their is a re-vote.

The Katz letter is no secret, it has been out and was certainly batted around on the bar and grill. Bob Miller also explained at one point how that letter doesn't apply anymore as the complexion of the flying done by the managers has changed so much since it was written.

Combined with my vacation I had a righteous amount of time off. next week I go back tanned, rested, and ready. Sadly, I'll have to leave my beard behind. I was starting to look like a Taliban anyway.

Hey, I noticed that we had a facebook friend together that I didn't know about. AWA airbus captain TA. We used to fly the Shorts together. If I recall, I saved his job once when he put one of those yellow diamond "baby onboard" signs in the window of the plane during boarding. The problem was, it said "crazy driver aboard"

767Pilot, I want BT to play "Chicken Little" with the company. And obviously many others feel the same. They are scum. And if it takes BT to have it stop, show me were I can sign up.

This holding hands and singing with these individuals needs to end. Like 10 years ago yesterday.

And I'm in the bottom 50%, not some old fart

Now I feel like Clark Kent after someone looked in on the phone booth as he was changing.

Yea, all 600 of you feel the same way. Chicken little? Calling Dr. Freud...
It's not what I said at all, but perhaps you are enjoying your new messiah running around telling us how the sky is falling.

So what's Mr. Tough Guy gonna do first? Jump up on the conference table and give the "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore speech"? Perhaps a little visine in their coffee?
