The incoming president does not support the MOU. We're all in trouble!

You may be right. All about Seniority with Bob. He believes that Fedex (the union) is trying to furlough right now to get the pay scales back for the senior guys. I dont see how this could happen at purple without violating the contract.
Save your $$$$ |

Save your $$$$ 1. Our pay scales have not changed! 2. The senior guys are not really affect that much, they bid carryover and still get 100+CHs each month! |

Also I wonder how much power the president has vs. consensus with the entire EB? I do not think he can override a majority of the EB if they want to proceed with the MOU in the future. One thing that everyone needs to take away from this is that Bob Thrush won by 35 votes and nearly 800 pilots did not vote. The last two elections have really driven home the cold hard fact that every single vote counts. g |
Bob is like a bull in a china shop he is going to give the finger to UPS when MOU 2 fails in two weeks. 400 pilots will get furlough notices Jan. 4th 2010. A heck of a lot of unhappy unsuspecting campers are going to start the commute to the North Pole.
Then BT will spend the next 2 years enforcing the contract , organizing the manglers and integrating them into the seniority list. Count on being furloughed for at least 3 years probably 5. The same guys that did nothing in the MOU are the ones that voted for BT I am sure of that. Contract 2012 will be nothing more than a retirement grab by the 50-65 crowd. Left over UPS junior pilots good luck. I am going to go throw up now then put up Christmas decorations and get drunk!:D |
confession
UPS won't furlough. I just want to start chatter! Keep talking.

If I am not mistaken the MOU process will run its course before Bob Thrush becomes president. We'll know if the company accepts the MOU results before Jan 1. (Prediction - we will fall short but get another year of reprieve and have another round same time next year.)
