We are properly manned under 4a2b, without it we are 500-700 over.

6-18 months until we are out of it, unless told to exit by an arbitrator.

If everyone flew just their lines, no VLT/DRT, would require another 150-200 pilots.

So
if we exit 4a2b, then we would furlough? Just asking

The System Chief Pilot actually said this......??

so......

Message Line: FDX ALPA directs all members to follow the System Chief Pilot's recommendation and NOT accept draft or volunteer assignments. This, in the System Chief Pilot's own words, will improve our overmanning situation by 150 to 200 pilots.

No jury (Arbitrator) in the world would convict us of a job action after that kind of statement directly from management......(IF he actually said it.)

Isn't this "O", the same guy that said there is no optimizer?

I'd like to see them get rid 500 guys and try to run the airline! I can't believe they continue to stick to these crazy numbers. I have no doubt that we are overmanned, maybe 150-200 (with the "new" model of manning), but c'mon, 500-700....really!? He must've thought the arbitrator was sitting in on that meeting!

First of all I would like to introduce myself. I am new to APF. I joined because we receive NO "Credible" information from the company and if this is what "O" said then it only goes to prove my point.

First- "We are properly manned under 4a2b"
Second- "We are 600-700 pilots over manned with out 4a2b"
Third- "If everyone flew their scheduled trips with no Volunteer or draft we would be 150-200 pilots short"
If I am getting this right then if we exited 4a2b and they even furloughed one guy then contractually they can not draft or volunteer. This would require everyone to only fly their awarded trips and in "0s" own words we would be 150-200 guys short???? Sooooo...... if we exit 4a2b then the company would be forced NOT to furlough.
Am I getting this wrong?

If the Company were to furlough, they cannot accepted volunteer flying. Pilots can still do all of the makeup that they have available, and the Company can draft, but cannot "rely" on draft to fill the schedule, whatever that means.

I thought they couldn't draft or volunteer in a furlough situation?? This whole bunch of numbers make no sense....
