FX Deviation Question
I can't seem to find a definitive answer in the contract about this - if I have $400 in my deviation bank and I get assigned a new deadhead, can I use that bank money to upgrade a class, and if so, do I need to deviate to do it? Thanks for a quick response.

For example the scheduled may not have a 1st class segment. But you can deviate and use extra bank money to schedule 1st class on another airline if your DH meets contract requirements.

What I was afraid of...here's your bank, AND a list of how you CAN'T use it...time to suck in the shoulders and curl up into a ball in my seat...

Naw, front end DH to LAX, layover, then a 3-leg with an IND hub turn in there. Finding out lots of new twists I've never seen these days as far as what we can and can't do...thanks for the thought!

DH to LA is one of those cases you may look at. 2 legs through DFW is usually 1st class eligible on American (5:05). A game you may or may not want to play. You could go delta through ATL (I wouldn't) and really rack up the miles now that their prices have decreased.

LAG's right on this one. I'll usually deviate on AA through DFW (over 5 hours, so ...) to the east coast and my bank usually covers the upgrade
