Just a question to anyone in this thread that works for USA Jet Airlines. I'm going in to interview with USA Jet and want to get as much information as possible in order to make a decision.

First I know that there is 13 hard days off for the DC-9 and 11 for the Falcon; however, I'd like to know how long are do your "on duty" rotations last vs. your days off. Is is a 3 on 3 off or 6 on 2 off type schedule or does it vary from month-to-month randomly?

Just how fatiguing is this type of flying?

Is it true that USA Jet has already acquired cargo conversions of the CRJ-200 to replace the Falcons?

Lastly, is there an idea of how long an upgrade can be reasonably expected for a new-hire?

Any bit of info is greatly appreciated.

Heard that rumor as well. I think the CRJ's don't perform as well as the Falcons do in terms of cargo, so I think they'll hold on to the Falcons for as long as possible. But things change in that realm on a day to day basis...

Maybe since the Falcon's will be outlawed soon due to noise.

Schedule varies depending on bids and what the senior guys want. You will see anything from weekends off to all 13 in a row. No plan for crj yet as they don't have a real door for it and that makes it useless for us

Where do most new-hires live to deal with calls requiring them to show up within thirty minutes? I take it that commuting is not an option?

New hires either relocate to yip or get some kind of crashpad. Preferably with other non sched guys. Typical airline crash pads aren't really set up for guys who sit on 24hr reserve for 5 days between trips. About 35-40% of the seniority list commutes but you are right it is not a very commutable job.

Hey guys, does anyone know what the proper channel is to apply to them? There isn't anywhere on their site where someone can apply.

Commuting to this type of gig sounds horrible. I can't believe this many guys do it.

what's their duty on time? Is it anything like the regional where u start reserve at 4am on day1? Also the other thread says u can sell ur days off...how do u do that? Are there trips posted for bid? And u bid it on ur days off?
