From National's website:

"Immediate need for qualified 747-400 drivers, left and right seat. Position will be in UAE, training to begin July 5. US Citizens. EOE"

UAE eh?

Good luck getting somebody with 747 experience with those lousy pay rates, especially if the position is in the UAE. Emirates, Qatar, or Etihad would be a much better QOL and Finacial decision. Plus I assume National will be flying into garden spots such as Afghanistan and Iraq...

I bet there will be more than enough applicants. Probably not the ones they want (or that they will keep once they get some hours).

This is something management always counts on.

Default Cathay Pacific

National Airlines? I was just in Hong Kong and the word out there is that Cathay has purchased the 6-74F's from Japan Airlines. I couldn't find the employment info on National's website! Time will tell.

JAL has another 30 for sale, so CX may have purchased another group of the aircraft.

They had 2 400F's and 4 400BCF. Those probably had the most interest for immediate lift. The other 28 would take time to convert.

The group of five sold to National are all or will be BCF's. Training for the them started yesterday. I don't know how as they don't have an approved program.
