May even limit us to one person we can sponsor at a time.

That was the rule before too. Just one at a time. Recommendations are a different story.

Does anyone on this board actually know someone in the pilot hiring department at FedEx ?

If so, do you think they would like to run a classified ad in the IPA union newspaper here at Brown ?

:D

Not that FedEx would have to advertise to fill their openings ...

Shaggy...What website are you going on to update? When I pull up the hiring page (It looks to be pilotcredentials.com) I get this which states no updates or new apps:

Profile Form Entry

We are currently not accepting new profiles. Please check back with us later.

PilotCredentials.com is currently undergoing maintenance. Updates to existing profiles are temporarily disabled.

Don't get me wrong, because FedEx is generally a good place to work, but sometimes our IT department is out to lunch.

Or paranoid.

Maybe they will issue all prospective applicants egrids.

I expect the website should be up soon. Keep trying and good luck.

I happened to log on to pilot.fedex.com last night (I log on periodically, just to check to see if the website has reopened for updates), and it was up and available for updates. This was about 9:30pm. I was able to update my app/profile. When I woke up this morning, it was once again showing the maintenance disclaimer.

Goodness......that takes the phrase "Timing is everything" to a whole new level.

Can anyone shed some light on how the sponsorship program works, or how it was used in the past hiring period. Also, are letters of rec sent via email internally within the company, or uploaded via .pdf into the online app. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to lay the groundwork now so that when that application window opens I'm not scrambling.

Are you are looking at the pilotcredentials.com site or on fedex.com careers site?

In the past, the sponsor was a pilot who had personally flown with you, that could attest to your abilities and airmanship. He would get the additional letters of rec from other pilots who know you, but may or not have flown with you. There is really nothing for the applicant to do with that process.
