There have been at least 4 this month. 3 FCIFs plus one cake offering in the AOC from a non FCIF retiree. :)

Your numbers are accurate but I think they may do all professionals and corporate guys in January. They really want to ramp up quick. Also, don't be surprised if they hire to the right seat of something, somewhere, within 2 -3 months.

Rumor alert:

Some combination of 30 professional and Corp pilot to start in the first 3 months of 2011. Then hiring close to 200. Not sure if it was 200 total or 200 on top of the other 30...

So all in all looks good for next year....

Hope it helps. And if someone could verify this with crew bus driver control...that would be nice....

Sorry to have some negative news, but there are some significant possible changes to military funding for the fiscal year that began in Oct. There might be a hundred or so guys currently out on mil leave returning over the next two months. There are lots of moving parts but if the funding does not come through, the school house will be tied up for a while getting them back up to speed.

only 100? Im going to go out on a limb and say there has to be way more FDX guys on mil leave than that who are going to have to come back. I've actually been trying to figure out if there's data out there for how many guard/reserve guys are out on mil leave across the entire industry. When they all come back at the same time how are training depts going to be able to handle it?

On a side note, this funding thing is tragic. Think about all the hotels and local businesses this contingency funding has supported since 9/11, that are going to end up shutting down.

I've heard a couple hundred, but like you I have no way to know how many. Still holding out for the last minute save at least through Jan, but who knows.

I was out for 7 1/2 months on mil leave and only needed a warm-up and pc. How long have these guys been out?

14 months out "bought" me a long re-qual.

FTDs at least 6-7 ASTs including a PC and some IOE also.

All total about 2.5 weeks to get back up to speed.

in my case, greater than 12 months triggered the long re-qual.

I'm hoping that's not the case. I'm on full time orders for AFSOC, my bro is on full time with ACC. Both of us had extensions to 31 Oct, then again to 31 Dec. I'm thinking that if you're in "critical" type staff positions, you'll get funding beyond the end of the year. I've been out 18 months, my brother about 2.5 years. I have no idea what kind of training cycle we'll be looking at when we get back, but it'll most likely be significant.
