Sheppard Air Flight Test 4.0 Prep Software ATP, Flight Engineer, Mil Comp - FAA Airline Transport Pilot Way, way worth the $75. They will give you a sweet gouge that'll reduce your study time down by many hours. I am 100% satisfied with my score thanks to that software:) I took my first FEX written years ago through All ATP's, same outcome, however I had to spend the whole day there instead of studying from my own laptop when I chose to do it. However, if I remember correctly, the FedEx pilot recruitment website states that the FEX written is required "prior to being hired", not necessarily a requirement for the interview... Can't hurt though. I know I had it ready for the interview. Good luck. |

what if your first class medical is good for one yr? not all of us are over 40. Also I know that the FE written is good for longer than two yrs if employed by a 121 carrier. Does furlough count as employeed in those regards. Does anyone think that they will have interviews shortly after peak?

Hoover: You are correct about he first class medical now. That was a fairly recent change if you remember, most widebody captains at FedEx have been here a while. If YOUR first class medical is valid, you are good to go.
It has been hashed over on here many times but I will repeat. The FAA may recognize your FEX written past 2 years if you are continuously employed by a 121 carrier, but FedEx DOES NOT. FedEx is hiring you, so you would want to meet their requirements, not quibble over a FAA allowance. |

VALIDITY OF AIRMAN KNOWLEDGE TEST REPORTS Airman Knowledge Test Reports are valid for the 24-calendar-month period preceding the month you complete the practical test. However, applicants do not need to have been continuously employed by a qualified air carrier between the time they passed the knowledge test and the time they apply to take the oral and flight tests. |

Not having it is the wrong way to "stand out" in the interview. At least that's how it used to be. I guess what I meant to say, and didn't do so clearly, is that one can wait for the CALL for the interview, then get the written done. Not the best logic, but for some, the call might not come within the next two years... by which time the written would be expired. Anyway, get it done if your chances of interviewing are decent...
