The Hoveround is a technological marvel. It allows preflights until at least 92 years old.

However, someone last Thursday mentioned that the latest plan is to have all 727's gone within 36 months. About a year to a year and a half earlier than planned even 6 months ago. This time, it sounds like they are serious.

I heard the same exact thing from a management type. But as everyone has clearly pointed out, they have no clue.

OK, since everyone, and I mean EVERYONE:rolleyes: is throwing around numbers and hearsay here's what I heard. Company is projecting drop after peak to levels near 4a2b. Internals hired then nothing after that for quite sometime. SIG rep rumor. If your swimming you might consider going into a survival float and conserve energy.

Any hiring predictions for 2020 (ten years out) ?

By then the 727's should be gone gone (no FE's) and alot of mandatory age 65 retirements happening.....

Just out of curiosity, are your sources from within the FEDEX 727 community??

Planned date is still Aug 2015...and could still slip right to 2018 depending on how cheap they can get the heavy C-checks.

Yes, and decision to accelerate was made in the last week or so.

January, February and March is the only breakout I've seen. No specific dates yet.
