Do better at what? Having a shiny, happy relationship between their union and their management team? Yep, I agree with you there.
Making more money? They aren't in the same ballpark. I'm just crossing the year 5 FO pay threshold, where I'm making $149 an hour...times 75 hours...times 13 pay periods...you do the math. That's the absolute minimum I'll make this year, and that's not counting per diem, international override, or flying a normal line, which can easily be in excess of 85 hours. Do senior Airtran Captains even make that much?
There are a lot of negatives working for Brown, but pay certainly isn't one of them.
FS, are you furloughed right now? If not, would you really rather be flying 5
legs a day between Atlanta and Birmingham for Airtran, dealing with passengers and the like? Jesus dude, we fly one leg to Hong Kong, and go to the hotel for a couple of days. It could be a lot worse.
