UPS announces FedEx pilot jobs
It just sucks that the IPA advertises on the IPNN that FedEx is hiring pilots. No offense to BT and the gang but it's just wrong ... WE should be calling our 109 guys back.

Of course it's wrong that everyone is going in a positive direction but us. But it isn't BT's fault. Such is life as a brown stain.
At least the IPA is keeping our furloughed crewmembers informed of other opportunities. Anyone senior to me wanna fill out the app as well

Huh??? Carrer earnings at UPS, if not furloughed, will far exceed that of Airtran. Even with the SW merger. Even as a 15 year F/O.

Making more money? They aren't in the same ballpark. I'm just crossing the year 5 FO pay threshold, where I'm making $149 an hour...times 75 hours...times 13 pay periods...you do the math. That's the absolute minimum I'll make this year, and that's not counting per diem, international override, or flying a normal line, which can easily be in excess of 85 hours. Do senior Airtran Captains even make that much?
There are a lot of negatives working for Brown, but pay certainly isn't one of them.
FS, are you furloughed right now? If not, would you really rather be flying 5 legs a day between Atlanta and Birmingham for Airtran, dealing with passengers and the like? Jesus dude, we fly one leg to Hong Kong, and go to the hotel for a couple of days. It could be a lot worse.

According to this website, it would appear that senior AirTran captains would make more Archie. From as straight pay rate basis, it would appear that is the case from year 8 on. Plus they get the extra stripe and scrambled eggs...only the Captain gets to honk the horn Greg.

Do better at what? Having a shiny, happy relationship between their union and their management team? Yep, I agree with you there.

These dirt bags furloughed pilots in Alaska, that they moved to Alaska a couple years earlier, all while making record profits during one of the worst recessions in history, AFTER the IPA offered to save jobs via givebacks within the MOU. Ask one of them if they feel it could be worse!
To the OP, you think that it's a bad thing for the EB to try to help our furloughed pilots find jobs to help feed their families? GMAFB. Who cares where it is? It isn't about you or the perception of the IPA or even UPS. It's about helping these guys find work after UPS tossed them on the streets in Alaska. I hope every one of our furloughed brothers gets hired at FedEx or anywhere else sooner rather than later.
