Vacation Expansion Question

Vacation Expansion Question
I have vacation the first week of May, and was awarded a line with a very large trip starting the first day of the month. Unfortunately, the trip conflicted with with an Apr trip and dropped into makeup, not using any of my vacation. I do have one other trip remaining on my line at the end of May. I would like to expand my vacation to knock out this trip.
My question is this. If I expand the end of my vacation period from 10 May to 24 May to conflict with my only other trip, will I create a footprint in my month that will not allow me to makeup some of the 80 hr trip that dropped into my makeup bank? As it is now, I am not getting to use my vacation, and my line is only worth 22hrs, so I definitely need to makeup some of that 60 hrs.
The window closes Monday at 700 am, so there is no one to call. If anyone knows the answer, it would be much appreciated.

For regular line holders only:
The only days that YOU can't put a trip on are your actual vacation day footprint.
They can't put a trip on top of ANY trip footprint that was knocked out with vacation. This includes the days between those original trips too.

Question. Do you have the situation where you can get the long May trip back? Is the Apr that caused the conflict less than 72 hrs TAFB? You might be able to get it back and then knock it out with the vacation period. Not sure about this one.
To avoid a phase-in conflict, a pilot with a trip in the new bid period in
excess of 120 hours TAFB shall, during the Bid Period Processing Conflict
Input Window, have the ability to submit to drop a carryover trip in the
current bid period of less than 72 hours TAFB duration as follows:
i. Such submission shall be made during the Bid Period Processing
Conflict Input Window.
If not you can always do CIC m/u during the view/add and add trips not in conflict with your vacation days or trips knocked out by vac. I believe that means the 'V' days on the BLA summary not the 'E' days.
A vacation period is a series of consecutive days posted and awarded as
provided in Section 7.C. (below), and rescheduled, if applicable, as provided in
Section 7.A.9. or E. (below).
A pilot may not be assigned a trip in conflict with his vacation period.
A pilot shall not be permitted to trip trade into, out of, or within his vacation
period.
I believe you can extend or slide then extend to knock out that trip late in May and then use the view/add to m/u trips as long as they don't conflict w the vacation period or trips knocked out by vacation.

The Apr trip was in conflict with the large may trip due to double block over 12 hrs. It ended more than 48 hrs from the beginning of the vacation, but inside o the 56 hrs of double block from apr.
It seems that I should be able to expand to the late may trip, then pick up on any days not covered by a V. Just want to see if anyone has had this same situation.

Buffer will not prevent you from make-up, however the actual footprint of your vacation will. If, for example, you slide your vacation to fall between the 6th-12th, you would be allowed to make-up prior to 6th, barring legality or buffer issues. You could make-up again starting on the 13th through the end of the month, including those days you had a trip which you knocked out with your expansion. I hope this helps.
