Default FDX Vacation Bidding Question???

Ok, calling on all the so called 'experts'!

I haven't had a vacation on the fourth week of the month in a really really long time and can't remember how this works. More specifically how vacation conflicts with carryover.

(7) days of vacation = 42 hours

Lets say your bid line award has a 50hr trip at the end of the month BUT 40 hrs fall in May and 10hrs is carryover into June. The trip gets dropped BUT do I get docked 50 hrs (the whole trip) or just 40 hrs (the part that falls in May)?

Hope this question makes since. I would call the company but the weekend is here and I think everyone is gone until Monday...plus they're not as smart as the folks that visit the board

Thanks in advance for all input!

Your vacation bank will be charged 50 hrs the entire trip. If you bid around the June carryover portion you will be paid an extra 10 hrs in June. Be careful - if you bid a line with a trip starting in the c/o portion or the vacation buffer it will be dropped as a carry in conflict and go into makeup.

Agreed, and you really have to read all the paragraph references (yea for hyperlinks) or you might get surprised. If memory serves, if you do conflict with your June bid, you don't get paid- it drops into makeup because you've already been paid for that vacation period.
7.G.1. A regular line holder shall be removed from a trip(s) in conflict with his vacation period (as awarded or slid) or vacation expansion. Conflict with an international duty free buffer, as described in Section 12.D.1.d. {A pilot shall be relieved of all duty for at least 24 consecutive hours prior to the start of an international trip scheduled to exceed 120 consecutive hours.}{A pilot shall be relieved of all duty and reserve availability for at least 48 consecutive hours at the conclusion of an international trip that exceeds 120 hours TAFB, except for trips scheduled in accordance with Section 12.D.1.c.i.[trips that operate entirely within Alaska; or within or between, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and Puerto Rico, or between any of these locations and the contiguous 48 states.]} , shall constitute a conflict with the trip protected by that buffer and may not be waived. The SCH value of the removed trip(s) shall be deducted from the pilot's vacation credit hour bank.
7.G.2.a. Secondary/Custom Line Holder. A pilot shall receive a 48 hour duty free vacation buffer at each end of his vacation period provided that the buffer occurs in a bid period in which the pilot is awarded a secondary line. A vacation buffer shall not extend outside the bid period(s) in which the vacation occurred. A vacation buffer shall not create a conflict with a trip that began in the previous bid period.
