Quote: It's not that easy. I've served at the MEC level at another airline, but didn't even get a response when I volunteered for any committee. If your not part of the inbreeding, or blindly follow, forget it. My experience
You're just not worthy ...

Concur on the IPA leadership or lack thereof. Thrush and Kalfas must be too busy patting each other on the back to actually do some real work. Have not much from these clowns in some time.

How about everyone travel as scheduled for a bid period. I can't even imagine UPS trying to book all those seats on the RJs out of SDF.

Quote: You don't have to have the solution in order to point out the problem. UPS leadership is pathetic. The IPA's is equally inept--doesn't 2.25% dues give me the right to state my opinion? I'm starting to fear that the thrush peeing contest will preclude any furloughed returning.

I've been flying with guys who are saying we should end the ot ban now since all of the furloughees have moved on! He was convinced that they've gotten jobs since tons of people leave UPS for other airlines all the time! Maybe in 1994, but not now.

We are so jaded by mgt that we are not willing to do the right things wrt the next contract. We need a 4a2b clause triggered by mgt 401k freezes. The alternative is perpetual furloughs as Fedex enacts their clause. We should trade it for something of value while we are able.
I'm sorry but you're comparing somewhat honest company that treats thier employees with some respect to UPS that degrades its people and constantly tries to do the job without its own force. Look, once the recession was declared over FedEx reinstated everyone and UPS actually pulled the plug on us. Do you for a min think that if we had 4a2b language in our contract anything would be different. maybe, but I can assure you we be all working under 42 Hr gaurantee until the hell freezes over and if you think otherwise then I have a ocean view property to sell you in Louisville.

I agree with Brownie. UPS will NEVER do the right thing! It doesn't matter how iron clad you might think language tied to a particular issue is, TC, Labor and rest of UPSS' scumbag lawyers will work around it.

Open up the contract? For what??? So D Scotty can get a bigger bonus? They would've furloughed anyway, had their PBS and our %13 pay cut like they wanted. For nothing, because guys would still be furloughed.

4a2b? At UPSS??? HaHaHA!!! We would NEVER get back to full pay status!

UPSS has ZERO sense of morality in any form.

I guess that I missed the memo that the recession was over! Our commander-in-chief must have announced it from one of his vacations or golf outings. What's his handicap these days?

Quote: Dude put the bottle down. Open the contract, crappy union leadership and all but open your eyes and see who you're dealing with. Put 4a2b language in CBA with ups?????. I have a suggestion for you. Call your congressman tomorrow and start lobbying and organize a protest and ask the us govement to sign a truce with Taliban. Man I'm glad you're not leading our union or we all be standing outside of UPS gate with our pants down.
It just seems to me that thumbing our noses at UPS gets us nowhere. Bemoan Miller all you want but he had a working relationship with management. We, the IPA, should have leverage right now, yet no word on ending the furlough.
