About a year ago, I did a DH deviation from the U.S. to HKG. I flew First Class to Narita and spent the night. The next morning I flew Business Class on Cathay to HKG. I flew Business after calling Corp Travel and asking about the rules (NRT-HKG is just under 5 hours). The response was that if I stayed in NRT less than 24hrs it was considered a continuous duty so Business was OK. I can find references that speak to duty but this was apparently an interpretation by Corp travel of "Continuous Duty". Has anyone else dealt with a similar Int'l DH where it was a two-leg DH with an intermediate layover and one leg was under 5 hrs? If so, could you please provide a reference? Thanks.

I don't think it matters what Corp Travel says. I think it matters what the crew pay folks who handle your expense report say. Sorry, i don't have have any references for your question.
