New A/C for Fedex

We'll never get everything we want, and they'll never get everything they want. It's negotiating. We determine what things are most important to us, collectively, and try to get them. Perhaps this issue will be elevated, at some point in the future, to the level that we'll negotiate for it. While I'm in favor of it, I don't think it yet rises to that level. Maybe next time.

But I also think that the Company mentioned the 757's at the table at some point. I can't fathom why we didn't get language that addressed new aircraft coming on property. ( If I missed it, please point me to it) I can't fathom why a 757 should pay the same as a 727. But that is my single issue opinion.

Paragraph K. New Aircraft in Service
26.K.2.:
2. If the Company introduces B737 and/or B757 aircraft, those aircraft will be
considered narrow body aircraft.
I know, it's a lot to read.

Koz You have to have a bid to train pilots. Primary and secondary seats will be filled. It's BS to say massive training costs prevented them from doing a pay breakout. They will train the pilots they need to train

. However I was just repeating what I heard at the hub-show from the MEC. But the more guys we have in training, the less we have flying the line. I had a good conversation with a training manager and why the company was putting guys directly into the right seat of the 27. It was costing the company money to train a guy in the back and then get an award to start training in the right seat within a few months of finishing IOE in the back. I talked to a guy who only spent one week on the line as an S/O before he started class (F/O). I think a lot of the reason that the seat bids have been very limited this year (two bids, compared to last couple years multiple bids) is trying to keep guys out of training.
