Mechanics down at Cecil said that all MD-10's are done flying by 2020. Gonna need a replacement jet sooner or later.

There's also a chatty ANC LCA who's been running around saying FedEx wants 40% of its crews FDA based by 2020.

With our LOAs, I'd said just 40%??

Counting retirements that means they only have to have about 1800 new hires by then. :rolleyes:

They want to change our retirement and optimize our scheduling rules too. I don't see that happening either. It's good that putting pilots overseas is getting more costly. The bean counters might just decide its not worth putting 40% of us over there.

For a while there Atlas' plan was to put 100% of them overseas. Seoul and London. Then get around U.S. labor laws. The plan died when Chowdry got killed.
