Cologne schools
Anyone know much about the schools in Cologne? We were very excited about Germany until we saw the cost of St.George in Cologne and other private schools around there. 12,000 euros per child! That's roughly $16,000 per child. Also found it is illegal to homeschool in Germany. Only exemption...active duty military. Anyone have any new insights or knowledge??

Look at Dusseldorf: more choices and a nicer city.
Some friends of ours that are from the Cologne area arent really high on St Georges FWIW. Their rec if you want the int school route is Homepage of ISD: International School of Düsseldorf e.V. or just put them in the local schools if they are young enough..sink or swim.
Also last time I looked, there were a few private schools in the area that conformed to the German curriculum and thus received vouchers from the Gov per student which resulted in the tuition being about half of other private schools.

...but, I'm sure the NC knew those numbers/rules and provided them some where on the ALPA website in order to fully educate the crew force before they made a decision on the latest TA.

Sorry 57Hauler, probably not the place to get any constructive answers from this crowd. Try Toytown Germany - English language news and chat lots of good info. Also maybe the old FedEx Paris Google group, do a search on here for the address.
