Yeah, that 4a2b really stunk for BOTH pilot groups. That's why UPS came after the IPA for concessions. They just wanted to keep up with the Jones'.

Just wondering, since you seem to be keenly aware of the situation, what has UPS been doing, besides of course those truly great "logistics" commercials. They are, indeed, game-changers. Again, just wondering. This was turning into a cat fight and I thought it might be prudent to point out that both of our beloved employers have their bad points. No one is going to win this "my employer is better than yours" fiasco as Sideshow was trying to point out through a little of his trademark black humor.

The short answer to your question say that again is yes it survived with the additions that came out in a separate grievance prior to the 4a2b ruling and it's long term fate will be determined by our next Sec. 6. Longer answers with opinions will likely follow.

UPS has proven that no amount of profit will keep you employed if they don't need your position. While I agree that employers do not run a charity the meager amount of money saved in the furlough compared to the MOU was short sighted. UPS smelled fear and went for permanent contract concessions. The furlough happened instead.

If i was looking to start somewhere my take would be FedEx would have a more secure/pleasant future for the newhire. From my side of the fence FedEx seems better now for pilots and past practice has shown it will most likely stay that way.

UPS has contract talks in progress. We'll do the heavy lifting, yet again. The future looks bright at FDX!

You guys might want to do your heavy lifting in the weight room...That way you might not get beat up by barmaids in Anchorage, again.:D
