They both are great phones. A matter of personal preference, I would say.

I myself like Android. Works fine for me. Not tied to itunes and a lot more freedom of usage. That is, unless you jailbreak the iphone.

Many users have told me it is worth getting the iPhone just to be able to run Fx Cal. Sorry for the shameless plug :) And several of my users have told me they have jailbroken a 4 to tether without paying AT&T.

I have an iphone and would drop it and get a droid in a minute, just for the tethering feature.

Verizon Iphone has option for a personal hotspot. $20/month. Works great.
Still can do Wi-Fi if you choose.

I have a Verizon Droid X (phone got great reviews) ... sort of wish I had an iPhone so that I could use KB's FxCal program (sure do wish I could get him to do a Droid version!!!). Would be glad to pay a good shareware fee

I use pdanet to connect my droid (also available for iphone) to my laptop. There is a one time fee of 15 dollars and works great. I can even stream videos.

Heard iOS update has bricked some iPhones. Don't risk it. Get a Droid.

Or wait till they get the bugs worked out. I learned my lesson with updating my iPhone 3G to 4.0 right away. Patience grasshopper!
