FedEx Hiring Window

My question is why does everything have to be so secretive. Just tell us, we have X number of training slots for overseas before we start with MEM based slots and you are #Y in the pool of Z. So based on about ## per indoc class per month we will call you ????. It is kind of hard for us military types planning. Guard, you don't want to pick up any long orders in case you get called, but you have to feed the Fam. Active, you don't know when to make your separation date so you can stay employed until the time comes. Just my thoughts. I know this is minuscule compared to the people who haven't been called, but hay i wouldn't be a crew dog if i didn't complain.
I was in the pool for 7 months back in the day so I totally get your frustration. Trying to support my family via the Reserves while trying to be available for "the call" was a total pain with no info coming from the HR folks. Unfortunately that's the way FDX has always been with poolies. I know it sounds hollow, but do the best you can and stay positive. When you do finally get here it is well worth the wait. Good luck to you and the other poolies.

I've been in the pool since August and have not heard a peep. I would love to go to ANC but I'm abiding to the offer letter not initiating contact with HR. It sure sounds like it should crank up in Jan tho!

No whining while in the pool...
I was in the purple pool for FOUR years and went through the emotional roller coaster and questions. Learned a lot about patience. BUT, I can most definitely reveal that behind door #1 is a great company with a lot of retirements coming up. It will be well worth it. Every line guy wants you aboard now!

I know some that have contacted the hiring folks to make known their willingness to go to HKG or CGN. Got them a slot in HKG.

When y'all finally get here, you will see why they keep all their cards close. The Reason: EVERYTHING at purple and orange changes on a daily basis, if not hourly. I don't know why but that it how it has been in my 7+ years. But IMHO it is worth every bit of the PITA!

From my understanding they contacted everyone in the pool to see if they would go to HKG/CGN (ANC guys were asked specifically). Guys that jumped at it got a seniority number quicker.
JHJr: It WOULD be nice if they told folks what the game plan was. I'm sure it has changed multiple times. Just a precursor to the way airlines are run. Better get used to it.
