TSA + Napolitano = Most inept government system in the world

 

Words simply can not describe just how exceedingly asinine of an idea this is. It is CLEARLY an effective and very low cost program (I've been involved in it for six years now). Therefore it's obvious that it's the current administration's disdain for firearms that's behind this whole idea of killing the program.

This is probably strike 3 (bad treatment of FFDO volunteers) as far as I'm concerned ...

STRIKE 1 - In the recent past, the FFDO program said that anyone leaving the program in good standing would have the opportunity to BUY a plaque. You'll have to trust me when I say I really don't want one but ... BUY a plaque??? Are you kidding me??? Now that's a hell of a way to treat VOLUNTEERS

STRIKE 2 - The new "outsized container" referenced above is a huge pain in the FFDO. It was clearly mandated by out of touch administrators without input from the user group!*?

STRIKE 3 - Now the recent news referenced in the thread discussion ...

 

There you have it...two guys who really wanted the badge and ability to concealed carry. And a plaque to lionize their "Ramboness".

Dude.....you're obvious ignorance of airline security is glaring. Continue thinking that that there is no need to protect our cockpits against a very patient and cunning enemy......they are in no hurry......they've been in a battle stance for thousands of years.

It's because of foolish thinking, such as yours, that allows our guard to come down and to be victimized again because of complacency.

Think about it. There is a way for a terrorist to stow away on a cargo aircraft....the 9-11 commission thought this to be true over 10 years ago.....it's much easier for a jihadist to overtake two cockpit dwellers, than a pax airline with a hundred or so people on board. The FFDO could possibly be the last line of defense.

it's only a matter of time. I'm no "Chicken Little".....But I know I won't be a victim.
