Core problem with FDX ALPA
complied with a good suggestion! everyone that has FB should sign up, I need to get a FB account first but agree that this is better served in private just like we would like our reps to conduct business like. thanks

I am an IPAer. We who work for Brown have had problems with management spying on us through FaceBook. It is not secure.
We have our own private forums (mostly the Bar & Grill) that are password protected for union members. They are not secure.
It amazes me how much money our company spends to snoop on us, but they do. I don't expect that it is much different at Purple. FWIW be careful.

So ... not only are they watching, it's somebody's job to copy and file such material. Like JE says ... BE CAREFUL

When I was still a moderator, I used to post warnings every so often urging everyone to show some restraint in posting sensitive, personal and/or inflammatory things. Any prudent person has to assume that management of every airline is actively monitoring this site. You would be incredibly short sighted if you did not think someone has a file containing every post you produced.
I am no longer a moderator, but I am still a lawyer and this is my free legal advice du jour.

Being nice, and not writing anything you wouldn't say at a trip folder is solid advice.
I was hired at Jetblue in 2001 largely with the help of "virtual" friends I'd never met on another message board. I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of people over the years who learned about Emerald Coast first on these forums, and I'm grateful for venue for folks to discuss hiring info. I've also learned a lot of things about a lot things on these boards, and to me they are nothing less than a marvel of the information age.
I'm not against a user staying anonymous, but if you write as if your name was your screen name and your avatar was your portrait you'll probably stay (mostly) out of trouble. Its when you think you are being sneaky and hidden that you end up getting burned. So--ask if you'd let your mom read your post, your ACP read your post, or your wife read your post and you will probably stay out of trouble. Lots of colleges are now teaching internet etiquette and technology SA building techniques to their freshman. Maybe some of us need a similar class...
