Default ANC 747 Cargo Questions

I'm at least a year before being able to apply but I'm considering different ACMI 747 operators and had a few questions:

1. Which company would you say transits ANC the most? Having worked the ramp there in the '05-'06 time frame I'd guess Kalitta, Evergreen, and Southern.

2. How long is the average sit there for crew? Just overnight? Several days?

Reason being, I used to live there and would love to move back. Seems like living there and working for one of these operators might turn into an opportunity to be home more than if you were somewhere in the lower 48.

Atlas has a crew base there. The other day we had 4 planes come in within an hour of each other. Mid pattern layovers can be 10 hours, they can be a few days.

Atlas would be nice but I don't think I'd be competitive. By this time next year I should be at 3,800 total, 1,000 MTPIC in a Metro.

That said, if they're hiring they'll have my resume.

Southern has a few guys living in ANC. They buy you a ticket and fly you to your trip on your first day of duty. I think our ANC operation has slowed, but we still have regular trips to EDF for the DOD.

Do you think my times would be competitive? And I take it the 777 doesn't transit ANC as much?
