China Visa application
#1
I have an Apple computer first of all. Every time I try to pull up the China visa to work on the form, all I get is a blank page. I reloaded the newest version of Adobe Reader, but still get a blank page. Any ideas?

Is it one of the forms here: China Work Visa, Employment Visa, Z Visa, Application Requirements (2001A or 2001B)
My guess is you don't have the Chinese fonts installed.
Here's a link for the Chinese Fonts for Mac PDF 9.x
Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Macintosh : Adobe Reader 9 Font Packs - Chinese Traditional
Good Ruck.

Better idea....next time you're in MEM, go in to the FDX passport office (I believe it's in Gucci Bldg) and they will hold your hand & fill most of the form out for you on their computer - then let you fill out your part on same computer - then take your photos to accompany the visa app - then take your passport and bundle it all up & send it off for you - this way, it's not your fault if the Chinese reject your app because it isn't filled out properly (I heard they're getting to be real sticklers these days)
One of the very few good reasons to drop in to MEM on occasion.

Does any know if you can use a crew (employment) China visa for a tourist visit (with family). Or would you have to get a separate tourist visa?? (can you get a tourist visa if you have an employment visa?)
thanks!
thanks!

Crew visa only works if you're operating as a crewmember, and sometimes if you're deadheading on a pairing and you have a chop letter.

Have you tried a different browser to fix the issue? (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome...). That has helped me in the past. Although AFW's above advice is best in helping to have the application done properly. Great folks in the passport office at the Gucci building.

LIke the Fr8Dogs says, I was able to download the blank application, open and fill in the blanks without any problems using "Preview" (and Snow Leopard). Worked great, no problems at all

Quite easy actually ...
(For those of you who haven't done this recently, the Chinese now require that the Visa Application is typed, thus the computer discussion)

If you do it on the AOC computers and print it out there, make sure to not let it print double sided,or you'll have to redo it. And don't wear similar clothes for the photo. Took a week to convince them my black pullover was different than the dark gray sweater I wore 2 years earlier.
