Default Skylease Cargo MD-11...old thread wore out

Just curious if anyone knows for sure if FO's get typed in the MD-11 upon completion of training. I have read the older post in here and other forums and keep hearing different things. I know its a crappy company to work for but I just want some heavy time and the type would be nice. Thanks

BJS is the same as SJS. Why support a $h!t ball operator that is bringing down the widebody ACMI pay rates to those of a regional operator? They are a scumbag operator, you know it, and you still want to go be a part of lowering the bar?

Pilots are their own worst enemies; Just baffling

The MD-11 type rating isn't worth crap anymore and it's not going to help you get to FDX. I know many with the type that have not ever been called for the interview and some more that weren't hired.

^^^^^^
This

Just a random example. A five year widebody Captain making $84,000 a year??

25,000 training contract

$24.00 a day per diem. Try to eat three meals on the road for that!

Sounds like a real Bag'O Summers Eve operation.

Palmtree.....You are ABSOLUTELY Correct on BOTH Counts.....Worked there....Left There.....and the MD-11 PIC Type Rating has NOT helped me get through ANYONES door.....

MD-11 Type Rated....Still Unemployed.....Still not getting even an invitation for an Interview....

Skylease was not worth the gamble......Has not helped my career....and the other comment about the Miami Mafia" is ABSOLUTELY true....

Still trying to get back to ACMI Flying with someone that you can actually earn a good enough living to support my family....

HercDriver 130.....The Rumors are True....I speak from having actually experienced it.....Left in January....Still Looking For Work....

Having the MD-11 PIC Type Rating is NOT Helping to open any doors for me....

I need work bad.....and still no calls...interviews...nothing.

What's the deal with the so called "miami mafia"? Are those D-bags preventing you from getting jobs elsewhere or just making a sh**ty work environment while at skylease?

Maybe because he has bills to pay and mouths to feed? His first obligation is to support his family, then to pay his debts, and somewhere wayyy down the list, to support your efforts to improve working conditions at your carrier. "Not applying for a job there" is a plss-poor way to do that, IMHO.

NO pilot ever lobbied successfully for better pay and QOL at a carrier from outside the company.

There's two perspectives. The one where you're employed. And the one where you're not. And they're quite different.
