The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong informs U.S. citizens that local Muslim leaders have announced plans for peaceful demonstrations to take place in Chater Garden in Central in the early afternoon of Sunday, September 23. *Consulate General personnel have been instructed to avoid the immediate area around Chater Garden on Sunday, September 23, and we advise you to avoid the area also. *

The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong remains concerned about the threat of violence against U.S. citizens and interests throughout the world. *As a general precaution, the Consulate General advises you to exercise caution and to be aware of your surroundings, particularly around large crowds or gatherings. *Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence with little or no warning. *You should monitor the Hong Kong media and Consulate General messages to keep updated with the latest information. *

We strongly recommend that U.S. citizens living or traveling in Hong Kong or Macau enroll in the Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at Welcome to Travel.State.Gov. *STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates and makes it easier for the consulate to contact you in an emergency. *If you do not have Internet access, enroll directly at the

Could be because the "Chinese" like the protests.

Just spitballing though, could be the Chinese commie ba$tards are just as surprised at the uprisings as our commie ba$tards. After all we got rid of the cowboy, how come they dont love us?
